I have lived in Texas all my life, and no other subject has filled me with both fear and awe at the same time like Texas storms do. This powerful weather phenomenon has always inspired me. The storms themselves are a work of art. Powerful winds aloft sculpt the towers into magnificent shapes and structures. Lightning lights up the night sky like an Independence Day celebration, and the booming thunder seems to echo forever. All of these factors are orchestrated like a symphony in the heavens. “Majestic Noise” is the name of this performance, and I am its audience. I love photographing and experiencing these storms. It is my passion, my calling, and my mission. When the severe weather rolls in, I go out to listen for that “Majestic Noise!”

Snowfall Total Reports...

We had some crazy winter weather these past few days. I have been at my parents house in Iowa Park since Monday night. I should have some pics and video up later this week. In the meantime, here is a preliminary snowfall graphic from the NWS. Iowa Park and Wichita Falls received about 6". While some areas in northeast OK received 19"! Anyways stay warm out there its going to get bitter cold tonight.

  1. It was definitely a crazy winter storm. The Metroplex is still somewhat shutdown. All of the schools are out for the 3rd day in a row, now. I'm 32 and I don't remember ever being out of school for 3 days in a row because of winter weather. There isn't that much ice on the ground, as far as depth is concerned, but because of the bitterly cold temps, it is still on the ground. Craziness indeed!

  2. Today is the fourth day our schools are cancelled. Very unusual.
